hi, I’m Jess! I’m a master’s student in Biology at the Freie Universität Berlin,
and I write about science, culture, and art. I’m interested in:
- the representation of nature across scales through painting and microscopy;
- biology’s history/future/role in pop culture, scientific culture, identity, and politics;
- and literary & speculative fiction, film, and visual culture.

previously, I studied neuronal metabolism as a postgraduate associate at Yale University, founded SciCHAI (a science + arts journal club at the Wu Tsai Institute),
