Hi, I’m Jess! I'm a master's student in biology at the Freie Universität Berlin, interested in the intersections of biology, culture, and art, the history and philosophy of science, and public engagement.

My work and writing explores:
-> the cultural life of biology,
-> perceptions and representations of nature,
-> and human-nonhuman relationships.

Current projects include:
-> urban rat research and public engagement at FU Berlin,
→ visual studies of nature and science through microscopy and mixed media,
-> and a zine on digital cameras and biological eyes.

Previously, I conducted neuroscience research at Yale University, founded a science-and-arts journal club at the Wu Tsai Institute, and worked in science writing, editing, teaching, and outreach.
