Hi, I’m Jess! I study biology as a master’s student at the Freie Universität Berlin. I also work on science education & communication, art-science connections, and interdisciplinary research. In my free time, I write about:
→ the cultural life of biology
→ nature perception & representation
→ our nonhuman neighbours
Ongoing projects include:
→ urban rats research & communication @ FU Berlin
→ microscopy art gallery
→ digital camera & biological eye zine
See the gallery for my microscopic images and mixed-media sketches.
See resources for artworks, books, and papers of interest.
Previously, I did neuronal metabolism research at Yale University,
organized SciCHAI (a science + arts journal club at the Wu Tsai Institute),
and taught science to kids.
