I’m a biologist and artist interested in the representation of nature across scales through painting and microscopy, and in writing about art, science, culture, and the body. I’m interested in biology’s history/future and role in pop culture, scientific culture, identity, and politics (especially with regard to genetics, neuroscience, and cell bio). I’m also interested in visual culture, literary & speculative fiction, and film.
In October 2025 I will be starting a master’s program in Biology at the Freie Universität Berlin. Previously, I studied neuronal metabolism as a postgraduate associate at the Yale University Department of Neuroscience and founded SciCHAI, a science + arts journal club at the Wu Tsai Institute. I’ve also spent time teaching science to kids.
See the gallery for mixed-media sketches and microscopic images. See resources for artworks, readings, and websites. Current projects/collaborations include a zine about the digital camera and the biological eye, an old-internet horror game, and lots of image processing.
