hi, I’m Jess! I’m interested in
- the representation of nature across scales through painting and microscopy;
- writing on art, science, culture, and the body;
- biology’s history/future/role in pop culture, scientific culture, identity, and politics;
- and literary & speculative fiction, film, and visual culture.

currently, I study biology as a master’s student at the Freie Universität Berlin.
previously, I studied neuronal metabolism as a postgraduate associate at Yale University, founded SciCHAI (a science + arts journal club at the Wu Tsai Institute), and spent some time teaching science to kids. (CV)
current projects/collaborations include
- a zine about the digital camera and the biological eye;
- an old-internet horror game;
- and lots of image processing.
